Recruiting people without ever having met them, instructing new employees about the organization and culture and keeping in touch with colleagues working remotely. Working in HR during Covid-19 involved some serious challenges. Now - more than 1.5 years later - more and more people are back in the office. But in combination with a few days working from home. Also known as hybrid working.

The hybrid workplace is here to stay. Which means that onboarding programs need an update. Existing processes don't always translate to a remote, on-site or hybrid working situation. That’s why we need to distance ourselves from the daily activities and listen and learn from other colleagues in the industry. On 4 November 2021, the leading onboarding event, Onboard Amsterdam, returns to address, discuss and tackle the challenges of (hybrid) onboarding together.

What can I expect at Onboard Amsterdam 2021?

Onboard Amsterdam is for anyone working in HR who is involved with onboarding. This is the perfect opportunity to get to know each other, meet other like-minded professionals, and explore new ways to make onboarding a success. The subject of this fifth Onboard event is ‘Rethinking employee onboarding in a hybrid workspace’.

Many companies are now considering hybrid working; some have even introduced it already. That seems to be very much in line with employee wishes: many people do not want to return to the old situation. But how do we organize this hybrid workplace? How do you align your existing onboarding program with this situation? And how do you ensure that every new employee makes a good start in your organization, whether they are working from home or in the office? After this event, you will know everything about hybrid onboarding, preboarding, scaling up, customization and diversity.

A glimpse behind the scenes: best practices in onboarding

We have invited five organizations to talk about their (hybrid) onboarding program: Deutsche Telekom, GGD Regio Utrecht, Eurofins, RadboudUMC and New10 (by ABN AMRO). Of course we will tell you a bit about our best practices and advice as well. The inspiring speakers will give you a glimpse behind the scenes and answer questions like:

  • How do you upscale while the world is in crisis?
  • How do you preboard new employees remotely?
  • How do you localize a global onboarding program?

Become inspired and get ideas that you can use in your own onboarding program.

We are going hybrid: on-site in Amsterdam and online from your own home

Our 5th Onboard Amsterdam won't just be about hybrid onboarding, it is a hybrid event as well. After going virtual in 2020, the 2021 Onboard Amsterdam will be a combination: with 300 guests on-site and a livestream for onboarding enthusiasts all over the world. You can choose whether to register for a seat with us on location or watch the event from the comfort of your own home.

On-site, you will meet our inspiring speakers as well as other HR professionals. We will take all the measures required to make the event as safe as possible for everyone. Come and network, join in the activities on site, visit our special Appical areas and enjoy the food. Prefer to follow the event from home? No problem! All the presentations can be followed live, and you can join in our round table sessions.
